This month we feature best selling author and 1AutomationWiz superstar merchant, Dan Miller.
Dan Miller of 48 Days
While many people focus on work and making money, many others are finding that life has a lot more to offer.
In fact, well-known author of “48 Days to the Work You Love: Preparing for the New Normal,” finds that successful people actually have more rounded lives.
“48 Days” focuses on work being only one part of a fulfilling life,” said Dan Miller, creative thinker, speaker, writer and coach. Now a hugely successful author and builder things weren’t always so rosy for Dan.
Early Beginnings: Success After Huge Debt
Dan’s “48 Day” business started as a result of a business disaster in 1988 where he had lost a different business initially and ended up almost 500 thousand dollars in debt.
As he worked his way through the process of getting back on his feet and paying off the his debt, he started teaching others how to find work they love.
It started as a simple Sunday school class at his church, then grew so big with people traveling from other churches just for Sunday school that they moved the class to a week night.
The worksheets he created for the class became what is now the book, “48 Days to the Work You Love.” And his business was built from that content plus people coming to him for personal coaching.
“We will never be a company with employees,” explained Dan. “We collaborate with independent contractors all focused on building their own businesses as well.
The company is growing in many ways, and re-evaluates the focus every year to determine what our best goal is for the upcoming year to encompass our overall mission statement.”
Through the ’48 Days’ brand Dan promotes info products including books, audio products and electronic products. He also provides life coaching and career resources via tele-seminars, one-on-one coaching, and live events.
To put it simply, Dan’s company strives to help others find their true path in life, transforming that into meaningful successful daily work.
Our company is large in terms of its reach and networks, reaching an audience of around 80 thousand customers.
However, we have zero employees – we collaborate with companies like 1AutomationWiz to create a company that outsources business needs with companies that are focusing on doing that one area well,” said Miller.
Miller’s company uses the 1AutomationWiz.com shopping cart, autoresponders and affiliate program components to manage his online e-commerce and email marketing and says the 1AutomationWiz Upsell Express and shopping cart software has definitely lead to an increase in his online sales.
Family and Encouragement:
Committed to personal priorities, Dan and wife Joanne celebrate over 43 years of marriage They have three grown children, all entrepreneurs, and they enjoy spending time with their 12 grandchildren.
Dan has built his business around the life he loves; his “30-second commute” to work each day involves him walking across his back yard to his office on his property – taking breaks to play with grand kids or hop on his tractor.
There is always the challenge of sales and marketing – there is no “perfect method” to marketing, and as audiences grow and change, so do the ways to market to them – our biggest challenge (and the biggest challenge I see in most businesses) is how to market effectively to a constantly morphing audience and system with advances in technology and trends.
Dan is the founder, and husband/wife duo Nathan and Ashley (Miller) Logsdon (Dan’s daughter) run the business aspect of the 48 Days business, and as the president of 48 Days LLC, Dan speaks to corporations on effective leadership, outplacement services, and bridging the generational gaps that are coming up more and more.
He also speaks to churches and other organizations on topics such as; “Who Are You and Why Are You Here?” “Becoming Fully Alive,” and “Work You Love.”
In addition, Dan has authored, “No More Mondays: Fire Yourself — and Other Revolutionary Ways to Discover Your True Calling at Work,” and the newly released, “Wisdom Meets Passion: When Generations Collide and Collaborate.”
